 I've had dogs most of my life, first it was the family dog Sam who was a Lab/Greyhound cross, he was a nightmare I realise now, always escaping and never came when he was called, I would go so far as to say he had no training at all, But he was the most amazing dog, so affectionate and not a bad bone in his body. He was my best friend and confident through those rough school years of the bullies.

Badger Boo's Jackanory Stories

Some of you may not know, but I also write a blog called Badger Boo's Daft Adventures that is written from my dogs point of view.

 I enjoy writing it and it's a small piece of escapism in a hectic life, plus Badger Boo enjoys replying to your comments himself, it's just a bit of harmless, bonkers fun.

Badger Boo is very popular on facebook and has a well supported group with over 900 members, he also has a Fan Page which links to his very own twitter account.

Jackanory came about when he started his blog, as his followers of the blog hadn't been with him since the beginning, and wanted to know a more in depth story of his life

Badger Boo's Jackanory Stories

A Step in the Right Direction

On Saturday it was Godalming Town Show, I really wanted to go, but   Himself was volunteering on the St John, Community First Responder stand, which meant I would have to go alone.

I rarely go out alone as I suffer crippling Social Phobia, after much faffing about and giving myself a stern talking too, I brushed off  Badger Boo and we set off in the car.

When we got to the carpark, we sat down and had a rest for about half an hour, whilst I built up the courage to face the crowds.

Spoilt Rotten

In this house there is only one priority, my beloved Badger Boo I don't believe in dressing him up, or feeding him non doggy treats, but he is part of our family and as such gets spoilt rotten.

He goes everywhere with Himself and I and we look forward to the weekends when we spend family time together. So when on Friday night he started to limp we were very concerned, it was nearly midnight. I had to choose did I call the Vet or leave it until Saturday?

After much debate I decided to leave it until the morning as it wasn't a life threatening condition, as a result had very little sleep as he was whimpering most of the night.

No news on the Medical front yet which is adding to the stress, I know I shouldn't let these things get to me, but sometimes its hard

The Devil Makes Work For Idle Paws!

Yesterday Badger Boo wasn't feeling too well, so he had a quite day at home and in the garden and was now feeling so much better today.

We do worry sometimes when he isn't himself, as he is now 10.5 years young and starting to slow down just a tiny bit.

This morning he had a gentle stroll to read his morning papers, had his gravy bones then Himself and I went shopping.

A much needed trip to the Groomers

Today was the day for my trip to the groomers, as I was starting to look like a right "Tatty Teddy" my mummy said!

I do like to look my best, but in the Winter I'm allowed to grow my coat somewhat to keep me warm, now the Winters have started to get colder in the UK... But for some reason my coat had got totally out of control this time!!!

As you can see...

So off I went to the groomer for my wash and brush up...

First things first, into the bath and a nice massage with some horrid smelling shampoo.

Fox Poop (yuck) ~ I have found the solution!

Fox Poop is thoroughly disgusting, but the sad fact of life is that most of our canine friends find that smell totally intoxicating!!! 

That awful smell just lingers on and on. No matter what you bathe your dog in, there is always the faintest whiff just waiting to catch you unawares!

In our house it has become an almost everyday occurrence with Badger Boo! As you can imagine it is a nightmare to live with (the smell not the dog). I've tried everything, even resorted to washing him with tomato ketchup.

But the smell was there all the time, just lingering on. I was starting to get to the point where he had to be kept on the lead in certain areas to avoid spoiling an otherwise wonderful walk with the hassle of a bath when we got home.

As you can imagine I didn't want to spoil his fun, as I'm a firm believer that "A Dirty Dog is a Happy Dog" but it wasn't good for him to have daily baths or for me for that matter!

I have now found the solution...

It wasn't actually me personally, it was the "Eco Dog Company" they sell a wonderful product called "Fox Poo Shampoo"

To say I was skeptical when I first heard about "Fox Poo Shampoo" is an understatement. Nothing can shift that smell, can it? 

I was at the point where I would try anything, so I checked it out
