Reach for the Sky

Took this picture of my Runner Beans on my mobile yesterday morning. I think it's so amazing I just had to share it with you. My veggies at home are doing so well at the moment.

It's a different story at the allotment, we dug it over in March, but with Himself being unwell and going into hospital nothing has been done since.

A Senior Moment

Go to Totally Random Stuff for today's Saturday Caption, I was having a Senior Moment when I posted it in the wrong place **resigned sigh**

Saturday is Caption Day #SatCap

We found this odd chain stuck in the beach at Hayling Island.
Could it be the plug to the sea?

Can you think of a funny caption?

Godalming Olympic Torch Relay

Today it was the turn of Godalming (my home town) to have the Olympic Torch Relay.

What an amazing afternoon, the town was absolutely packed full and the weather was fantastic, we got there a bit late and finding somewhere to stand with a good view was not easy.

Cabin Fever

As I enter week two of being signed off work I am totally bored to tears! Being off work is not good for me, my back feels worse and I can feel my knee's seizing up a bit more as each day pass's.

I need to keep active both mentally and physically, and I'm so frustrated with my restrictions at the moment. Went food shopping with Himself yesterday, which was the first time I'd set foot out of the house since last Monday when I bumped into Lesley aka the  Mad Dog Woman of Shackleford.

Luckily I'm the sort of person that is happy with the peace and quite of my own company, I'm usually fairly adept at keeping myself occupied, plus I also had the delightful Badger Boo to keep me entertained, although he's still going out with his Dog Walker daily, as I think it would be unfair to keep him confined as well.

Badger Boo's Jackanory Stories

Some of you may not know, but I also write a blog called Badger Boo's Daft Adventures that is written from my dogs point of view.

I enjoy writing it and it's a small piece of escapism in a hectic life, plus Badger Boo enjoys replying to your comments himself, it's just a bit of harmless, bonkers fun.

Over the last few months he has been writing his memoirs under the title of Jackanory which was a popular children's series in my youth ** a very long time ago**

Badger Boo is very popular on facebook and has a well supported group with over 900 members, he also has a Fan Page which links to his very own twitter account.

Jackanory came about when he started his blog, as his followers of the blog hadn't been with him since the beginning, and wanted to know a more in depth story of his life

If you want to read his story here are the links:-

and

The story is ongoing, and there is a lot more to tell, I post installments approx every four to six weeks. There are also lots more of his Adventures if you check out the Archive on his blog.

Hope you enjoy reading all about Badger Boo and his Daft Adventures.

RIP Lennox

What an awful world we live in when a dog can be destroyed that has done nothing wrong, but because a tape measure says it is a Pit Bull it is deemed to be a dangerous dog and destroyed.

Breed Specific Legislation needs to end, a dog should be judged on it's deed not it's breed.

Join the fight to end BSL with DDA Watch on facebook or on their website this can not be allowed to continue.

So many dogs have died because of this flawed legislation, it isn't working!

Tributes to Lennox can be left here.

RIP Lennox

You're safe now you've crossed The Rainbow Bridge

I Hate Technology!

Here I am trapped at home bored out of my skull, my back is so painful I can't do anything, especially that huge pile of ironing that just keeps growing in the spare room.

Anyone that knows me, knows that I'm not brilliant on the computer so part of my re-training with this whole Job/Medical Retirement/Dismissal thing was to do an IT course, to enable me to find some sort of admin job.

The boredom was becoming so overwhelming I decided to be clever and start my IT computer course at home to give me something to do, it had all been set up at the Education Center and I'd made a
start on it there, so I knew how it all worked, so I logs in and reads all the bumph and then click the "continue my learning" button.

Good and Bad all in a Day

Yesterday started off like any other day, with a fistful of pills before I got out of bed, then once they start to kick in it's time to get up and face the day.

Breakfast:- Yummy
Annoyingly my delicious breakfast of pills didn't seem to be casting their magic spell as well as usual. So I decided I had better get up before I fell asleep again. Then pain of my Arthritis started screaming in agony once I started moving. This is not unusual, but yesterday I was in more pain than I usually am when I get up.

Some Normality at Last

Life is finally starting to return to normal, Himself is now up and about and although he is still in a fair amount of pain, it is now under control.

On Saturday we went to Busbridge fete, and Himself felt up to doing some fake wounds on the St John Community First Responders stall, the kids really love it and it raises some much needed funds for equipment.

Himself applying the makeup for a bruise...
Great fun was had by all, at one point we had a longer queue than the face painting stall. Some fantastic wounds were done, although sadly no pictures due to legal requirements and permissions needed for photographing children.
