That is a lot of work. I had my own garden for years, but at my age it is too much for me and in our current home there really isn't a place for it. You speak of an allotment ... where do you get the allotment and do you have to pay for it? Our park districk has some areas for people to grow a garden ... I think you just have to sign up for it. There is limited space though so I don't think evryone can get one. There is probably a waiting list.
