Smile it's Friday
I love apples and when I took my new allotment over was very pleased to see we had our own little apple tree.
I've not been able to get to the allotment much lately.
Himself has been unwell and had to have another operation on his kidney this week, so we are pretty much housebound at the moment due to his severe pain which is difficult to manage.
So imagine my delight, that when I found 10 mins to pop to the allotment on Wednesday, I found the tree was heavily laden with tiny little apples all ready to grow into nice big juicy ones
I have no idea what type of apples they are?
Looking at the colour of them I'd say they're not Cooking Apples, which is lucky as I eat more apples than I cook.
So I'm off now to do some research on how I can make jams, jellies and anything else out of all these lovely chaps when ready to harvest. As much as I love Apple Crumble and Custard I think with this many apples I would soon get bored of it, I'm going to really enjoy tying out new recipes with these little beauties.
Now lets see who else is smiling this weekend :o)

Smile it's Friday
At last we are having some nice weather, I thought it would never come. When the weather's warm life is so much nicer.
We live near a beautiful canal and a walk along there will always lift the spirits, as well as being a great opportunity to get some fabulous pictures.
This is my favorite bridge to photograph and in the past I've captured some amazing reflection pictures, Badger Boo had just been in for a swim so the water wasn't quite still enough to get a crisp reflection and a narrow boat was coming along behind me so I had to capture it before the water was stirred up again.
I love the long slow winding bends, nothing is hurried and nothing is jagged as the canal slowly moves on.

It's such a tranquil place and with the warmth of the last few days I've been spending a lot of time down there.

I love the little arches under the bridge and I particularly love the symmetry of this picture, it just says peace to me.

I've Been a Tardy Blogger Lately
Firstly I must apologise for my tardiness and hardly posting news here in the last couple of months. Things have been totally manic since I launched Stone Pit Crafts which I'm really happy about, but it has taken up a lot of my time, hopefully now things have quietened down a bit I can get back on an even keel keeping up with everyone again.
Although I am very pleased to see, each week another person joins the blog hop "Smile it's Friday" and last week was the most entries so far. If you want to join in just add your link to the post, it runs from Friday to Sunday so plenty of time to join in.
The Arthritis in my hands has been playing up a fair bit lately, as I've been over doing the knitting and finger physio to get the orders out. My good friend Lesley sent me a picture of the Welly Toppers I made for her as I forgot to take a picture **slaps own wrist** more about them will be written on Stone Pit Crafts Handmade Monday post next week.
I got an awsome new PDF Scanner app thing on my mobile and it works really well at scanning the cards I make, for some reason I was having real problems taking pictures of them, they always looked like they were taken with a fairground mirror.
Badger Boo is well, but I fear his advanced years may be catching up with him. He's sleeping an awful lot theses days, although he's his usual mad self when awake and not slowed down at all, he'll be 12 in October, hardly seems any time ago he was such a cheeky young pup.
Next week Himself goes back into hospital for another operation, neither of us are looking forward to it, but we really hope it sorts out his ongoing problems. It's hard to see such an active and fit person reduced to a shell of his former self, in so much pain and so unhappy.
I'm hoping to get my little car back soon, my son has been borrowing it for the last year to get to his collage course. It's been really tough without a car, but his needs were greater than mine at the time.
I hope you're all keeping well and life is being kind to you?

If You Go Down to The Woods Today...
As much as I love this place, be warned it's not Disabled friendly and you will not get round if your in a wheelchair.
You are quite literally walking in the woods.
It all adds to the charm, but there are many uneven and steep steps cut into the tracks and very few hand rails.
I just take my time and enjoy myself and sometimes Himself acts as my handrail going down the steps.
BUT
It really is a great day out at a very reasonable cost and kids will love it there.
Smile its Friday
What a great week it's been.
I have a lot to smile about.
I've been busy making adjustments to the Stone Pit Crafts website to make it more user friendly, with a lot less junk to distract the eye and toned down my love of bright colours after some constructive criticism. I've also added PayPal and started selling my Welly Toppers and there has been a lot of interest in them.
I also designed this cute bracelet, when I've made a few more they will also be for sale here, I used Moss Stitch as I really love the texture and feel, other colours will also be available.
My biggest smile came from this weeks Charity Shop Bargain.
I saw this case and it peaked my interest.
You never know what's zipped up inside plus it was only £1.99.
You all know how I love a bargain.
When I opened it I found these 24 pens, not very exciting to some I grant you, but I've been looking for some decent colouring pens for some of my projects with moderate success.
Tested them and they all worked, plus they were double ended, one fine nib and one broad, so actually 48 pens.
Himself who is an admirer of a decent pen, I've bought him several really good ones over the years, came home and was quite impressed with my bargain and told me to look them up on the internet.
Turns out Letraset make really good pens for professional use, I'm pretty sure mine are Product Design looking at the colour range. Although there is no way on this earth I would ever pay £92, yes you read that right I said £92 for a set of felt tip pens.
Lets see who else is smiling this week :o)
